Celtic Commandments

Give thou thine heart to the wild magic,
To the Lord and the Lady of Nature,
Beyond any consideration of this world.

Do not covet large or small,
Do not despise weakling or poor,
Semblance of evil allow not near thee,
Never give nor earn thou shame.

The Ancient Harmonies are given thee,
Understand them early and prove,
Be one with the power of the elements,
Put behind thee dishonour and lies.

Be loyal to the Lord of the Wild Wood,
Be true to the Lady of the Stars,
Be true to thine own self besides,
True to the magic of Nature above all else.

Do not thou curse anyone,
Lest thou threefold cursed shouldst be,
And shouldst thou travel ocean and earth,
Follow the very step of the ancient trackways.

Deep Peace to You (Healing
Version)

Healing Blessing

Alan Dall, the blind poet, put upon the Amadan this eolas of healing,
touching the brow and the heart as he said here and here —

“Deep peace I breathe into you,
O weariness, here:
O ache, here!
Deep peace, a soft white dove to you;
Deep peace, a quiet rain to you;
Deep peace, an ebbing wave to you!
Deep peace, red wind of the east from you;
Deep peace, grey wind of the west to you;
Deep peace, dark wind of the north from you;
Deep peace, blue wind of the south to you!
Deep peace, pure red of the flame to you;
Deep peace, pure white of the moon to you;
Deep peace, pure green of the grass to you;
Deep peace, pure brown of the earth to you;
Deep peace, pure grey of the dew to you,
Deep peace, pure blue of the sky to you!
Deep peace of the running wave to you,
Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you!
Deep peace of the Yellow Shepherd to you,
Deep peace of the Wandering Shepherdess to you,
Deep peace of the Flock of Stars to you,
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you,
Deep peace of the heart of Mary to you

Celtic Teutonic Goddess of the White Sword

Shield and Safeguard Us

Valiant Nuada of the white sword,
Who subdued the Firbolg of blood,
For love of the Tribe, for pains of Danu’s children,
Hold thy shield over us, protect us all,

Hold thy shield over us, protect us all.

Danu beloved! Mother of the Shining Ones,
Shield, oh shield us, Lady of nobleness,
And Brigit the beauteous, shepherdess of the flocks,
Safeguard thou our animals, encircle us together,

Safeguard thou our animals, encircle us together.

And Ellen, beneficent, benign,
Governess of the trackways of power,
Invoke the star of power upon the path,
Guide well thou ourselves, shield our procession,

Guide well thou ourselves, shield our procession.

O Mother! O Maiden! O Crone of Wisdom!
Be the Triad with us day and night,
On the machair plain or on the mountain ridge,
Be the Triad with us and her cloak around us,

Be the Triad with us and her cloak around us.

Circle Me Lord
    Top
By David Adam
Circle me, Lord.
Keep protection near
And danger afar.
Circle me, Lord
Keep hope within.
Keep doubt without.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep light near
And darkness afar.
Circle me, Lord.
Keep peace within.
Keep evil out.

May the blessing of light be on you – light without and light within.
May the blessed sunlight shine on you like a great peat fire, so that stranger and friend may come and warm himself at it.
And may light shine out of the two eyes of you, like a candle set in the window of a house, bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm.
And may the blessing of the rain be on you, may it beat upon your Spirit and wash it fair and clean, and leave there a shining pool where the blue of Heaven shines, and sometimes a star.
And may the blessing of the earth be on you, soft under your feet as you pass along the roads, soft under you as you lie out on it, tired at the end of day;
and may it rest easy over you when, at last, you lie out under it.
May it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it
quickly;
up and off and on its way to God. And now may the Lord bless you, and bless
you kindly.  Amen.

THREE KINDREDS PRAYER BEADS, A Druid Devotional

This version of the Prayer Beads is more Druid in content, honoring the Three Kindreds: The Ancestors, spirits of the ancient dead; The Earth Spirits who share this world with us; and the Gods, or the Shining Ones.

Celtic Prayers Druid Religion

It is best to string your own beads. Follow the instructions below, which is the same procedure for the Goddess Prayer Beads, but substitutes Gold for Silver, because Druid spirituality is Sun oriented rather than Moon oriented.

13 white 8mm beads for the Gods & Goddesses
13 red 8mm beads for the Earth Spirits
13 black mm beads for the Ancestors
1 silver 10mm bead representing the Sun
52 silver spacer beads (class “E” 6/0) representing the Sunlight.
Nylon thread clear, monofilament

You may begin and end stringing anywhere in the loop, but the tie-off is less visible in the midst of the black beads.

The gold Sun bead is separated from the white God/Goddess beads by four (4) gold spacer beads. Each white God/Goddess bead is followed by one gold spacer bead, but the thirteenth bead is followed by four (4) spacer beads. Then come the red Earth Spirits beads, each followed by one gold spacer, but the 13th bead is followed by four (4) spacers. Then come the black Ancestors
beads, each followed by one gold bead, but the 13th is followed by four (4) spacers.

And so we are back at the gold Sun bead.

In other words, beads of the same color are separated by one spacer. The three sets of beads and the larger Sun bead are separated by four spacers. Thirteen (13) beads are used in each set to signify the thirteen months of the lunar year. The gold spacers represent sunlight issuing from the Sun bead throughout the Three Kindreds of Ancestors, Earth Spirits, Gods & Goddesses.

Prayers are said on each bead, while meditating on the mysteries of the Three Kindreds, and the experience of human life.

PRAYERS FOR YOUR DRUID BEADS

On the gold Sun Bead say:
Blessed (Father, Mother,) come to me,
and cast your lovely, golden light.
Give light to earth that I may see
your glory shining ever bright.
Triple Kindred, Blessed Be,
and true well met, my soul’s delight!

On the space say:
I bind unto my self today the
Memory of the Ancestors.

Meditate on the Memory of the Ancestors . . .
On each Ancestor Bead say:
Ancestors, Ancient Ones,
Remember me as I remember you
Old Ones, hear my prayer,
And accept my offering of love.

On the space say:
I bind unto myself today the
Comradeship of all Earth Spirits

Meditate on the Aid of the Earth Spirits . . .
On each Earth Spirit Bead say:
Fur and feather, leaf and stone,
Aid me as I aid you.
Earth Spirits hear my prayer,
And accept my offering of love.

On the space say:
I bind unto myself today the
Power of the Gods and Goddesses.

Meditate on the Honor of the Shining Ones . . .
On each God and Goddess Bead say:
Gods and Goddesses, Shining Ones,
Honor me as I honor you.
First-Born of Earth, hear my prayer,
And accept my offering of love.

On the space say:
I bind unto myself today
The Presence of the Three Kindreds.

On the gold Sun Bead conclude:
I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit Heavens,
The glorious Sun’s life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the Moon at even;
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling Wind’s tempestuous shocks;
The stable Earth, the deep salt Sea,
Around the old eternal Rocks.
So may it be.

Morrigan Goddess

Tirgereh, who wrote the above Rosary, says:  Memorization, of course, is preferred. You may, however, choose to alternate your rosary prayers based upon need or whim. In which case, memorization may be difficult until lengthy practice is employed. [This rosary is structured like a Catholic Rosary, with the exception of having nine beads per decade instead of ten.] To make the sign of the 5-Rayed Star (pentagram): start with the first two fingers touching the forehead, then proceed to the left breast, the right shoulder, left shoulder, down to the right breast, and ending again at the forehead.

Earth Rosary

by Anne Safyre
From http://www.sacredgrove.com/1%20earth%20healing%20rosary.htm

The purpose of the Earth Rosary is to pray for the healing of the Earth and
Her children.

The gold/ brown decade is for Africa
The purple/rose decade is for the Americas
The green decade is for Europe
The blue/aqua decade is for Oceania
The white/yellow decade is for Asia

If you are making an Earth Rosary, use the colors of your choice for the beads, or just use any standard rosary you already have.

On the medal, cross or pendant of your rosary say the

Prayer for the World:

May the World be led to the Truth and the Light, through the King and Queen of Peace, Justice, Mercy and Love. May we be shown the Divine Purpose of the Earth, and receive Her brightest blessings!

On the first bead say the

Sky Father Prayer:
Our Father, who art the Heavens, hallowed be Thy name
May peace and love reign on Earth as they do in the Summerland.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us for hurting our Mother the
Earth. Help us to teach others The Way of Caring.
And lead us from destruction by delivering us from ignorance and greed.
So mote it be.

Say the Hail Mother on each of the next three beads for Our Mother the Earth, who has been so desecrated at the hands of mankind:

Hail Mother, full of grace Thy gifts to us are abundant!
Holy Earth , Mother of us all
Our beloved, living home! Receive the Healing Energies we send to You
As we receive your Most Holy Healing Power, Goddess Almighty.
So mote it be.

On the 5th bead say the Sky Father Prayer again:

Our Father, who art the Heavens, hallowed be Thy name
May peace and love reign on Earth as they do in the Summerland.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us for hurting our Mother the Earth. Help us to teach others The Way of Caring. And lead us from destruction by delivering us from ignorance and greed.
So mote it be.

As you pass through the gate of the central medal and enter the circle of this rosary, honor the blessings of the Guardian ArchAngels of the four directions and elements:

Ariel, ArchAngel of the Earth,
Guide us now and at the hour of our rebirth.

Raphael, ArchAngel of the Air,
Help us to heal and to care.

Michael, ArchAngel of Fire
Let love be our greatest desire.

Gabriel, ArchAngel of the Waters
Protect the God/dess’ sons and daughters.

On each of the decade beads say the Hail Mother prayer:

Hail Mother, full of grace Thy Gifts to us are abundant! Holy Earth, Mother of Life! Our beloved, living home! Help us to care for and heal You and others as we would Care for and heal ourselves. So mote it be.

On the divider beads that follow each decade, say the Glory Be to Gaia, the Sun and the Great Spirit:

Glory Be to Life-Giving Gaia, And to the Sun for His Light and His Warmth, and to the Great Spirit that dwells in all Living things on Earth. As it Was in the beginning , is now And ever shall be, World Divinely created and without end.

Close the circle of the rosary with The Earth Blessing:
Let the sacred circle of this Rosary remind us of the Miracle that is the
Earth.
Let Her love and peace Encircle us and guide us in all we do.

Blessed Be!

Blessed Be!

Grant, O God/Goddess, Thy
Protection;
And in protection, strength;
And in strength, understanding;
And in understanding, knowledge;
And in knowledge, the knowledge of justice;
And in the knowledge of justice, the love of it;
And in that love, the love of all existences;
And in the love of all existences, the love of God/Goddess.
God/Goddess and all goodness.

–Amended From: The Book Of Druidry by Ross Nichols

Who will hold my hand?
Who will send the energy on to weave a circle of light?
I call on the light,
I call to the Lord and the Lady, whatever you wish to call them,
I call to the four corners of the Earth,
Strengthen this circle and let the power grow,
Let the love flow!

–A Druidic Prayer

I Arise Today
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven:
Light of sun,
Radiance of moon,
Splendour of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of wind,
Depth of sea,
Stability of earth
Firmness of rock.

Irish Poetry

Eternity’s Loombr>
Orchil, the dim goddess who is under the
brown earth, in a vast cavern, where she
weaves at two looms. With one hand she
weaves life upward through the grass; with
the other she weaves death downward through
the mould; and the sound of the weaving is
Eternity, and the name of it in the green
world is Time. And, through all, Orchil
weaves the weft of Eternal Beauty, that
passeth not, through her soul is Change.
— Fiona MacLeod Iona

Initiate/Druid Birgir writes: I picked these two poems (above) because
they directly speak to me of where my personal power/contentment comes from.
It seems that when I get caught up in the way my American society lives —
do this, do that, rush here, rush there — that I lose a connection to inner
peace. To gain it back, I reconnect myself to the larger universe of nature
(I usually sit near trees and brush and the small animals and small insects
who are always there nearby and just quietly coexist with them). These poems
remind me of that fact that a Druid gains his/her power from nature, and
should always be aware of the small things, the things overlooked, the things
in nature that people have aversions to (i.e. dung and dung beetles, the
life that comes from death, etc.). These poems remind me that my ego will
pass someday along with my body back to nature and create another process
of life. I believe my true self (in the Buddhist sense) has always been here
and it is that self that connects with nature and derives energy from it
and is empowered by nature and if I always act with my true self (even in
my day to day rush) I will bring contentment/peace not only to my own life
but all life that surrounds me. It may take many lifetimes to achieve, but
I am hopeful.  More poems and prayers can be found where I found these:

The Mystery

I am the wind that breathes upon the sea
I am the wave of the ocean
I am the murmur of the billows
I am the ox of the seven combats
I am the vulture upon the rocks
I am a beam of the sun
I am the fairest of plants
I am a wild boar in valour
I am a salmon in the water
I am a lake in the plain
I am a word of science
I am the point of the lance of battle
I am the God who created in the head the fire
Who is it who throws light into the meeting on the mountain?
Who announces the ages of the moon?
Who teaches the place where couches the sun? (If not I?)

— Amergin, brother of Evir, Ir, and Eremon, the first Milesian princes
who came to Ireland hundreds of years before Christ

I am the Creator that Dreams
by Mystery School Initiate, Ember Flower

I am the Creator that dreams
I am the Creation
I am the atom, the molecule and the space in between
I am the trees and the forest, the wind and the air
The stars and the twinkle
I dance the cosmic dance , I am the dance
I am you and you are me
There is no separation only oneness
I am thought I am matter
I am love and I am joy
I am sadness and sorrow
I am he and I am she, and I am it
I am the flower and the stone
I am the heartbeat and the rain
The sorrow and the pain
The moon and the stars
I am all and all is me
Life is my thought and my dream
I am all there is and all there is, is me
I am now and becoming
Forever unfolding in the mist of time.
I dream and so it is
You are child of light, I am the Flame of Life
No separation exists, only union
The child lives within the flame
Feel my presence, feel my magic
All is magic, all is life, my beloved flower
Allow the joy and love to flow through you
And out there.
As you touch the word know that it is my hand and my voice
As the world touches you, know that it is I
Feel the exchange folding back into itself
As I touch your mind know that you are transformed
Never to be the same again
Transformed from darkness to light
From sleeping to wakefulness,
And so the world awakes, one cell at a time
One cell in happy awareness of union with the divine
Your time has come daughter of Light arise in your wakefulness and help to
create paradise, in love and joy
Be a conscious participant Live in the now.
Not tomorrow or yesterday but in the only time that is real, eternity.

In the Dreamtime
by Mystery School Initiate, Jackie Anath

Ageless wisdom comes again
Unknown to watcher’s clouded eyes.
Aerie glimpse of ancient truth’
is strange to all who hold the lie.

Feelings deep and known to Mother
Part are we of nature’s bowels
We who belong to dust and depths
are only keepers of the sheep and fowl.

Dream me now with light and goodness
Heal and bless to stop the cries.
Whisper softly to the night winds.
Cast your vision in her sighs.

Call to west and eastern shores,
as half of all that makes us whole,
Voicing now the sleeping reason.
deep within primeval soul

Rocks and trees and loamy earth,
Part of One as part are we,
All creatures of the sky and forest,
Beasts of earth and watery sea

Dream me now with light and goodness,
heal and bless to stop the cries,
Whisper softly to the night winds,
Cast your vision in her sighs.
