Proceeding a bit further west from the previous photo, then walking onto the property from the road, we come upon the spring.  It is a year-round spring and emerges up from the ground and rock at this spot.  The spring itself never goes dry, but the stream it creates goes dry in summer.  Usually it is surrounded by lush green grass and the moss on the rocks glistens, but it is Fall now (Nov. 9, 2005) and things look a bit faded.   Origin of the spring close up

From the spring's origin (pictured above) the water flows northward, becoming a stream which crosses the width of the five acre property. (See photo below for better view of the stream bed's beginning).

Next it spills over a rock making the picturesque winter and spring waterfall, then flows across some moss colored rocks and leads to the pond.  At the waterfall you leave our property.  The community pasture, with the pond, begins.  The pond is therefore not part of the property but is part of the community's 35 acre pasture and if you ever get horses they will enjoy the pond.  Right now only the deer, herons, waterfowl, and other wildlife drink from it since the horses who used to live at Alexis' house have moved on with the previous owner and the horses that live to the east of our property don't go out on the community pasture very often. The pond and rocks are pictured later in our photo "tour."
