Choosing to remain in this world after having attained enlightenment, Kuan Yin has vowed to retain human form until all beings attain enlightenment.” –The Goddess Oracle Kuan Yin is known as: the Mother of Ten Million Buddhas, the Great Mother of China, the Buddhist Madonna, the Lady Who Brings Children, and the Divine Mother. She is often portrayed in flowing blue, white, and/or gold robes, often holding a child. Jade is sacred to her. Similarities between Mary and Kuan Yin: Both have vowed to come to the aid of all who call upon them for help. Both are the protectors of children, of mothers and childbirth, of sailors and the sea. Both are the givers of mercy, Both offer salvation to their followers. Both are worshiped with a proliferation of shrines and statues, with elaborate litanies, prayers, and festivals, and with pilgrimages.
