Semiramis, “She of the Doves”
by Initiate and Priestess Maya

I have chosen Semiramis because I have never heard of Her. As a female founderof the great ancient city of Babylon which held one of the Seven AncientWonders of the World, I find Her intriguing. (I also like Her name). Of course,I had to choose a Goddess about whom the least is known!

The story of Semiramis has been hidden so deeply, it is almost obscure. Semiramiswas a Queen of the ancient Assyrian Empire. She was famed for Her great beauty, strength, wisdom, voluptuousness and alluring power. SHE is the one who builtBabylon with its hanging gardens, not Nebuchadnezzar who got the credit forit! As usual with ancient records, much of Her accomplishments were laterattributed to a man. So, Semiramis was the architect of the great hanginggardens known all over the world with its remarkable irrigation system, oneof the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. She must have been a remarkablewoman. She built many other cities and was a great conqueror. Her conquestsincluded Egypt, Ethiopia, much of Asia and she warred against the Medes andChaldeans. She was not successful in India, where She narrowly escaped withHer life by destroying a bridge that She had built while being seriouslyhurt.

It is said of Her that she was a great beauty and yet had a man’s mind andstrength of will. Clearly, we have here a woman who perhaps surpassed theescapades of some of the greatest conquerors of history, yet, we know solittle about Her. (Maybe because She was a woman?) She was a woman with theintellect of a genius, commander of a great and successful army, founderan empire and builder of one of the most beautiful Wonders of the World.

Her husband was King Nimus (perhaps derived from the Assyrian Nunu meaningfish). Nimus was the son of Bel which evolved into the Caananite Baal andlater was identified with the Greek God, Cronos. Nimus is said to be theinventor of warfare and the first to assemble huge armies for conqueringother lands.

Legend of Semiramis’ Birth
There is a legend that tells of the birth of Semiramis. She was abandonedby Her Goddess mother due to a trick played on Her mother by Aphrodite(Ashtaroth). Doves found the infant Semiramis and provided milk and cheesefor Her stolen from local shepherds. The shepherds found the Infant in nearbyAcacia shrubs. They took Her to their Chief of the Royal Herds who raisedHer as his own and gave Her the name Semiramis which translates: “The OneWho Came from the Doves.”

She married one of the King’s advisors and generals, named Onnes. They hada set of twins: Hyapate and Hydaspe. Her husband achieved great success dueto the advice of Semiramis. King Ninus, in conquering Bactria, sent for GeneralOnnes. Semiramis joined her husband on the battlefield. She took over a groupof soldiers and due to Her advice and leadership, the Battle of Bactria waswon. Ninus forced Onnes to give up his wife to him. Onnes, in despair, hunghimself.

Ninus and Semiramus had a son, Ninyas.

Her reign as Queen endured for about 42 years. (This is as opposed to thefew years I mention below when She reigned alone). She built a mausoleumfor Her husband and Herself at Nineveh on the Euphrates plain. She wasresponsible for the building of Babylon and the Hanging Gardens, as mentionedpreviously, which is usually attributed to Nebuchadnezzar. She went on tobuild fabulous parks, famous fountains, monuments and many cities along thebanks of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. She had much trouble with Her sonto whom She eventually handed over Her reign and subsequently disappearedat the age of 62. Legend has it that She took flight towards Heaven in theform of a Dove.

Semiramis became identified with Astarte/Astoreth. History does not rankSemiramis as an actual Goddess and there is no mention of Her worship but,She was portrayed as a semi-divine heroine, a female prototype of Hercules.Semiramis is the Greek version of Her actual name which was Sammu-rammatwho, in history, was the mother of King Adad-Nirari III and wife of Shamsi-AdadV (823-811 BC). She was the Dominant Queen after the death of Her husband. She ruled in Her own right from 811-808 B.C.

Other legends hve Her as the wife of the famous ruler Nimrod. Legends tellus that the Babylonians supremely worshipped a Goddess Mother and Her Son.This may have been the Original Mother/Son worship as it is from Babylonthat it spread to the ends of the Earth. Mother and Child deities throughoutthe world based on the original Babylonian Mother/Child are: Isis/Osiris-Egypt, Isi/Iswara-India, Fortuna/Jupiter-Pagan Rome, Ceres the Great Motherof many-Greece, Shing Moo w/Child in Her Arms-China. (This is astoundingto me).

It is believed that Semiramis is the origin of the Great Mother within history. She was also known as Rhea the Great in the East, under whose Name, Semiramiswas worshipped.

So, we find that Semiramis was worshipped as Rhea. Her husband’s name, Ninus, translates to The Son. This appears to be why he is sometimes called Herhusband and sometimes called Her Son. Because She is the original Great Motherwhose worship was spread throughout the world, it would account for the confusedrelationship between Isis and Osiris. “The Babylonian Worship of the GreatMother spread throughout the known world. This Mother Goddess was known bydifferent names, but the form of Her religion has not transformed sinceantiquity.” (From www.yahweh.com).

To conclude: Well, I started this report by choosing one of the least knownGoddesses and ended up finding the Original Mother/Son Goddess who was ofsuch beauty as to surpass even Cleopatra herself. She accomplished such featswhile on Earth that only Alexander the Great could possibly rival. And yet,who She was and Her accomplishments were practically lost in obscurity, justlike Mary Magdalene. — Maya

Semiramis Building Babylon, by Edgar Degas

More from Dr. Katia’s notes:

Malikta Shamiram is Greek for Queen Semiramis.  Semiramis ispronounced, “Sha-MEER-ah-mees” or Sh’MEER-ah-meesh

Semiramis

Mythical Assyrian queen, noted for her beauty and wisdom. She was reputedto have conquered many lands and founded the city of Babylon. After a longand prosperous reign she vanished from earth in the shape of a dove and wasthereafter worshiped as a deity, acquiring many of the characteristics ofthe goddess Ishtar. The historical figure behind this legend is probablySammuramat, who acted as regent of Assyria from 810 to 805 B.C.

**************

Lesson excerpt by Dr. Katia:
Semiramis – is the Goddess of Ancient Babylon, the Mother of Tammuz, and the founder of the City of Babylon. She gave birth to Tammuz, the Savior-Godof Babylon who died so that the land might be preserved. Apparently, Semiramiswas worshiped as greater than Tammuz, because she was seen as the Motherof the Gods. One might conclude that the Babylonians saw her as holding suchtitles as: Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate – titles which Mary holdsin Catholicism. Semiramis was also assumed into Heaven in the form of a doveat the end of her life. Little is known about Semiramis, and some of whatis “known” was invented by fundamentalist Christians who sought to discreditMary by equating her to Semiramis and calling them both, “the Whore of Babylon.” Pictured at right /above is a museum figurine of Semiramis.  Shelooks like the original bat girl.

BABEL: Nimrod, Architect of the Tower of Babel husband of Semiramis, greatarticle on the Mary connection, woman and god-child thing. Here it is:

Nimrod The founder of the city of Babylon is believed to be Nimrod. Nimrodappears for only a brief time in the Bible:

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was amighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mightyhunter before the LORD.And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.Out of that land went forthAshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah: the same isa great city (Genesis 10:8-12). Genesis 10: 8-12 (King James Version)

The name Nimrod may come from the Hebrew verb ‘nimrodh’ which is translated,”Let us revolt.” Nimrod is referred to as a ‘mighty one’: this phrase derivesfrom the Hebrew word ‘gilor’ which means “tyrant”. Nimrod was not just apowerful man on the earth at that time, he was a tyrannical leader of men.The phrase “a mighty hunter before the Lord” suggests that it was not wildbeasts that Nimrod was hunting, but men. Having hunted them he would enslavethem and have a tyranical hold over them. And all this was done in directopposition to the Lord.

It has also been suggested that Nimrod tamed a leopard to accompany him onhis hunts for animals, just as people today use dogs for this purpose. Thiscould also be where Nimrod got his name: the Babylonian name for “leopard”was “nimr” and “rod” means “to subdue.”

After the Great Flood, various city-states in Mesopotamia became the temporaryseat of power until about 2800 BC, when they were united under the rule ofone king, Etana of Kish, who may also be the origin of the Biblical Nimrod.Seven cities were conquered by this king, who established the world’s first,post-deluge empire. After founding a southern (Sumerian) empire in Babel,Erech, Akkad, and Calneh, he invaded Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir,Calah and Resen. He then unified the people in numerous construction projects, the most prominent of which was the construction of the Tower of Babel.

In his ancient history Histori Romani Scriptorium Justin states,

“Ninus strengthened the greatness of his acquired dominion by continuedpossession. Having subdued, therefore, his neighbors, when, by an accessionof forces, being still further streng-thened, he went forth against othertribes, and every new victory paved the way for another, he subdued all thepeoples of the east.”

Ninus is probably Nimrod – Genesis 10:11 indicates that Nimrod was the builderof Nineveh, and the word Nineveh (Nin-neveh) means “the habitation of Ninus.”

After Nimrod:

Following the death of Nimrod, his heathen form of worship was continuedby his wife, Queen Semiramis. She claimed that her husband had become theSun god, and was to be worshipped. Some time after this, Queen Semiramisconceived through adultery and gave birth to an illegitimate son whom shenamed Tammuz, who she declared was actually Nimrod reborn, and that he hadbeen supernaturally conceived. However, even though Semiramis claimed tohave given birth to a saviour, it was she that was worshipped, not the son.She was worshipped as the mother of the gods.

Many different ideas from the Babylonian religion have come down throughthe generations. Probably the key doctrine is that of the mother-sonrelationship. As the Babylonian people were scattered throughout the world, they took with them the idea that Semiramis had miraculously conceived andgiven birth to Nimrod reincarnated. Thus, all through the world, men beganto worship a divine mother and god-child, long before the birth of Christ. The woman appears in different ways, and is called by different names, butshe is always the same person: Isis in Egypt, Indrani in India, Cybelle inAsia, Fortuna (the boy) in Rome, Ceres in Greece, Shing Moo in China, Herthain Germany, Sisa in Scandanavia. But the woman was really Semiramis, thequeen of Babylon. Even Israel, when it fell into apostasy, worshipped Ashteroth, who was known to the Jews as the “queen of Heaven” as told in Jeremiah 44:17-19.

In his deified form, Ninrod the Sun god is known as Baal. Semiramis, as thefemale divinity, would be called Baalti. This word translated into Englishmeans “My Lady.” In Latin it would be translated “Mea Domina”. This namebecomes the name “Madonna” which is the name by which Mary is often referred. The same reasoning can be applied to the name of “Mediatrix”, which Maryis also called. Mary received that title from “Mylitta” (mediatrix) whichwas one of the names of the Mother Goddess of Babylon. “The Queen of Heaven”is another name for Mary that has been adopted from the pagan Babylonianreligions.

(Artisan Pubs. Note:) After reading the Christian Research Journal’s (Volume22/issue No. 2), detailed account of why Ralph Woodrow had discontinued thepublication and distribution of one of his very popular books that was basedon Alexander Hislop’s book, The Two Babylon’s, we decided, in all goodconscience, that neither could we continue to distribute The Two Babylon’s.We are now offering Mr. Woodrow’s book, The Babylon Connection?, which explains, quite thoroughly, his problem with promoting Hislop’s book so that our customersmight have a clearer understanding of how, and why, we reached our decision.)

The following is an excerpt from The Babylon Connection:

Suppose we could go back in time–back to the days of ancient Babylon. Whatkind of religion would we find being practiced there?According to AlexanderHislop, we would find people attending a mass, partaking of a little roundwafer, worshipping a cross, going to confession, being bapized with waterfor the remission of sins, burning wax candles, and bowing before a divineMother and Child. We would notice that places of worship featured a tower.Priests wearing a circular tonsure, dressed in black garments, would givethose who died the last rites. With monks and nuns in abundance, the Babylonianswould be practicing essentially all the rites known today in the Roman catholicChurch!According to Alexander Hislop, it all started with Nimrod and hiswife Semiramis, thus subtitle of The Two Babylons: “the Papal Worship Provedto Be the Worship of Nimrod and His Wife.” But, any information about Nimrodand Semiramis in history books is, at best sketchy. In the Bible, Nimrod”the mighty hunter,” is only mentioned four times–and his wife is nevermentioned! Nevertheless, Hislop claims to know all kinds of detailed informationabout Nimrod and his wife….By now the reader may be asking the obviousquestion: Where does Hislop get all this information? The answer is clear.Based on mere similarities, he merges a variety of mythological stories togetherso that the hero in each becomes Nimrod. The Bible says Nimrod was a “mightyone”; in mythology Hercules was a mighty one or giant–so Hercules must havebeen Nimrod! Nimrod was known as “a mighty hunter”; in mythology, Orion iscalled the Hunter–so Orion must have been Nimrod! The building of the Towerof Babylon is commonly linked with Nimrod; in mythology, Kronos was the kingof the Cyclops who invented tower-building–so Kronos must have been Nimrod!….And so, by citing similarities, and ignoring differences, Hislop supposes that all kinds of goddesses were but variations of one goddess–a deified Semiramis of Babylon! But by this method, one could conclude thatMary Baker Eddy, Ellen G. White, and Aimee Semple Mcpherson were the same woman!….Bearing in mind that Hislop’s subtitle is “The papal worship provedto be the worship of Nimrod and his wife,” I have carefully checked the articles on “Nimrod” and “Semiramis” in many recognized reference works….NOT ONE SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT NIMROD AND SEMIRAMIS BEING HUSBAND AND WIFE! Not only is there no mention of Nimrod being married to Semiramis, the information given tends to rule this out entirely. The Encyclopedia Britannica and The Encyclopedia Americana say Semiramis or Summu-ramat, as she was called bythe Assyrians, was the wife of Shamshi-Adad V who reigned 823-811 B.C. Nimrod by all accounts, would have lived much earlier than this! Instead of Nimrod and Semiramis being husand and wife they did not even live in the same century!

David Icke Symbolism Feature

Statue of Liberty is Semiramis, a gift of french freemasons to new york.David Icke’s nonsense blather:

Statue of Liberty – Semiramis

The Statue of Liberty is another Brotherhood symbol highlighting the lighted torch. The Statue of Liberty is actually the Statue of Liberties – the liberties perpetrated on the American people by the Brotherhood. There she stands on her island in New York Harbour holding her torch of freedom and Americans believe she is the symbol of their liberty in the Land of the Free. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Statue of Liberty was given to New York by French Freemasons and her mirror image stands on an island in the River Seine in Paris These statues of liberty are representations of Queen Semiramis and Isis et al, with the rays of the Sun around her head. The ancients symbolised the Sun in this way. And they are not holding the torch of liberty, but the torch of the illuminated ones, the reptilian Elite. The Statue of Liberty is a Brotherhood symbol which says: We control this country and we are telling you so, but you are too stupid to see it!

The Pagan Origin Of Easter

http://www.lasttrumpetministries.org/tracts/tract1.html

The Pagan Origin Of Easter

Easter is a day that is honered by nearly all of contemporary Christianityand is used to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The holiday ofteninvolves a church service at sunrise, a feast which includes an “Easter Ham”,decorated eggs and stories about rabbits. Those who love truth learn to askquestions, and many questions must be asked regarding the holiday of Easter. Is it truly the day when Jesus arose from the dead? Where did all of thestrange customs come from, which have nothing to do with the resurrectionof our Saviour? The purpose of this tract is to help answer those questions, and to help those who seek truth to draw their own conclusions. The firstthing we must understand is that professing Christians were not the onlyones who celebrated a festival called “Easter.” “Ishtar”, which is pronounced”Easter” was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their godsthat they called “Tammuz”, who was believed to be the only begotten son ofthe moon-goddess and the sun-god. In those ancient times, there was a mannamed Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah’s son named Ham. Ham hada son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis.Cush and Semiramis thenhad a son named him “Nimrod.” After the death of his father, Nimrod marriedhis own mother and became a powerful King. The Bible tells of of this man,Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: “And Cush begat Nimrod: he began tobe a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: whereforeit is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginningof his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land ofShinar.” Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife andmother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon. Nimrod was eventuallykilled by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various partsof his kingdom. Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one partthat could not be found. That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramisclaimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the peopleof Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called “Baal”,the sun god. Queen Semiramis also proclaimed that Baal would be present onearth in the form of a flame, whether candle or lamp, when used in worship.Semiramis was creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, sheset herself up as a goddess. Semiramis claimed that she was immaculatelyconceived. She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28day cycle and ovulated when full. She further claimed that she came downfrom the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River. Thiswas to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the springequinox. Semiramis became known as “Ishtar” which is pronounced “Easter”,and her moon egg became known as “Ishtar’s” egg.” Ishtar soon became pregnantand claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive. The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz. Tammuz was noted to beespecially fond of rabbits, and they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god, Baal. Tammuz, likehis supposed father, became a hunter. The day came when Tammuz was killedby a wild pig. Queen Ishtar told the people that Tammuz was now ascendedto his father, Baal, and that the two of them would be with the worshippersin the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit. Ishtar, whowas now worshipped as the “Mother of God and Queen of Heaven”, continuedto build her mystery religion. The queen told the worshippers that when Tammuzwas killed by the wild pig, some of his blood fell on the stump of an evergreentree, and the stump grew into a full new tree overnight. This made the evergreentree sacred by the blood of Tammuz. She also proclaimed a forty day periodof time of sorrow each year prior to the anniversary of the death of Tammuz.During this time, no meat was to be eaten. Worshippers were to meditate uponthe sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the “T”in front of their hearts as they worshipped. They also ate sacred cakes withthe marking of a “T” or cross on the top. Every year, on the first Sundayafter the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made.It was Ishtar’s Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs. Ishtar alsoproclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eatenon that Sunday. By now, the readers of this tract should have made the connectionthat paganism has infiltrated the contemporary “Christian” churches, andfurther study indicates that this paganism came in by way of the Roman CatholicSystem. The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with theresurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also know that Easter can be asmuch as three weeks away from the Passover, because the pagan holiday isalways set as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the springequinox. Some have wondered why the word “Easter” is in the the King JamesBible. It is because Acts, chapter 12, tells us that it was the evil KingHerod, who was planning to celebrate Easter, and not the Christians. Thetrue Passover and pagan Easter sometimes coincide, but in some years, theyare a great distance apart. So much more could be said, and we have muchmore information for you, if you are a seeker of the truth. We know thatthe Bible tells us in John 4:24, “God is a spirit: and they that worshiphim must worship him in spirit and in truth.” The truth is that the fortydays of Lent, eggs, rabbits, hot cross buns and the Easter ham have everythingto do with the ancient pagan religion of Mystery Babylon. These are all antichristactivities! Satan is a master deceiver, and has filled the lives of well-meaning,professing Christians with idolatry. These things bring the wrath of Godupon children of disobedience, who try to make pagan customs of Baal worshipChristian. You must answer for your activities and for what you teach yourchildren. These customs of Easter honor Baal, who is also Satan, and is stillworshipped as the “Rising Sun” and his house is the “House of the RisingSun.” How many churches have “sunrise services” on Ishtar’s day and facethe rising sun in the East? How many will use colored eggs and rabbit stories,as they did in ancient Babylon. These things are no joke, any more than Judgementday is a joke. I pray to God that this tract will cause you to search formore truth. We will be glad to help you by providing more information andby praying for you. These are the last days, and it is time to repent, comeout and be separate.

Semiramis [Reference article in Perseus Encyclopedia] (18.75)

Semiramis [Reference article in Harry Thurston Peck, Harpers Dictionary ofClassical Antiquities (1898)] (12.88)

Here is the second of the above two articles:

Semiramis(Semiramis) and Ninus (Ninos). The mythical founders of the AssyrianEmpire of Ninus or Nineveh. Ninus (the Greek name for Rimmon Mirari) wasa great warrior, who built the town of Ninus or Nineveh about B.C. 2182,and subdued the greater part of Asia. Semiramis was the daughter of thefish-goddess Derceto of Ascalon in Syria by a Syrian youth; but, being ashamedof her frailty, she made away with the youth, and exposed her infant daughter. But the child was miraculously preserved by doves, who fed her till she wasdiscovered by the shepherds of the neighbourhood. She was then brought upby the chief shepherd of the royal herds, whose name was Simmas, and fromwhom she derived the name of Semiramis. Her surpassing beauty attracted thenotice of Onnes, one of the king’s friends and generals, who married her.He subsequently sent for his wife to the army, where the Assyrians were engagedin the siege of Bactra, which they had long endeavoured in vain to take.Upon her arrival in the camp she planned an attack upon the citadel of thetown, mounted the walls with a few brave followers, and obtained possessionof the place. Ninus was so charmed by her bravery and beauty that he resolvedto make her his wife, whereupon her unfortunate husband put an end to hislife. By Ninus Semiramis had a son, Ninyas, and on the death of Ninus shesucceeded him on the throne. According to another account, Semiramis hadobtained from her husband permission to rule over Asia for five days, andavailed herself of this opportunity to cast the king into a dungeon, or,as is also related, to put him to death, and thus obtained the sovereignpower. Her fame threw into the shade that of Ninus; and later ages lovedto tell of her marvellous deeds and her heroic achievements. She built numerouscities, and erected many wonderful buildings; and several of the mostextraordinary works in the East, which were extant in a later age, and theauthors of which were unknown, were ascribed by popular tradition to thisqueen. In Nineveh she erected a tomb for her husband, nine stadia high andten wide; she built the city of Babylon, with all its wonders; and sheconstructed the hanging gardens of Media, of which later writers give ussuch strange accounts (cf. Herod.i. 184). Besides conquering many nationsof Asia, she subdued Egypt and a great part of Aethiopia, but was unsuccessfulin an attack which she made upon India. After [p. 1439] a reign of forty-twoyears she resigned the sovereignty to her son Ninyas, and disappeared fromthe earth, taking her flight to heaven in the form of a dove. The fabulousnature of this narrative is apparent. It is probable that Semiramis wasoriginally a Syrian goddess, perhaps the same who was worshipped at Ascalonunder the name of Astarté, or the Oriental Aphrodité, to whomthe dove was sacred. Hence the stories of her voluptuousness, which werecurrent even in the time of Augustus ( Ov. Am.i. 5Ov. Am., 11). The storiesthat were current about Semiramis and Ninus are told by Diodorus Siculus, who drew largely upon Ctesias (q.v.). See Diod. bk. ii.; Var. Hist. vii.1; and Lenormant, La Légende de Sémiramis (Brussels, 1873).See Ninus.

New Covenant Church of God, Sermons: 164. WE WISH YOU A MERRY NIMROD?

http://www.nccg.org/164Art-Nimrod.html

“We wish you a Merry Christmas,

“And a Happy New Year!” So goes the popular English carol.

But how many realise that the original “Christmas” festival, and the spiritof the modern one, has little or nothing to do with Christianity, but isrooted in the vilest of paganism? The original Christmas festival originatedin the Babylon founded by Nimrod, the grandsom of Ham, the son of Noah. ActuallyChristmas and Western Capitalism are perfect bed-fellows for it was Nimrodwho originated the Babylonish system of organised competition, of man-ruledgovernments and empires based upon the competitive and profit-making economicsystem. It was Nimrod who built the original tower of Babel, the first cityof Babylon, Nineveh (the capital of Assyria) and many other commercial andpagan-religious centres. Nimrod was so evil that he married his own mother,Semiramis. After Nimrod’s untimely death, Semiramis established a false Messiahor anti-Christ doctrine which was adopted subsequently by many pagan religions. She claimed that a full-grown evergreen tree sprang overnight from a deadtree stump, which symbolised the springing forth unto new life of the deadNimrod. On each anniversary of his birth, she claimed, Nimrod would visitthe evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. 25 December was the birthdayof Nimrod. It is from this myth, created by a woman living in an incestualrelationship with one of the most wicked men that ever lived on the earth, that we get the original Christmas tree. After her death Semiramis was worshippedas the “Queen of Heaven”, and Nimrod, under various names, became the “divineson of heaven”. Through the generations, in this idolatrous worship, Nimrodalso became the false Messiah, son of Baal the Sun-god. In this false Babylonishsystem, the “Mother and Child” (Semiramis and Nimrod reborn) became chiefobjects of worship in all pagan religions. The names varied in differentcountries and languages. In Egypt it was Isis and Osiris; in Asia, Cybeleand Deoius; in pagan Rome, Fortuna and Jupiterpuer. Even in Greece, China,Japan, and Tibet this counterpart of the Madonna is to be found, and longbefore the first advent of Christ. The evergreen tree, which a symbol ofthe annual rebirth of this false Messiah, lies at the centre of the Christmasfestival. Here in Norway children dance around the Christmas tree, imitatinga pagan rite established by Nimrod and his priests thousands of years ago.Long ago the Lord emphatically warned against imitating these pagan customs:

“Thus saith the Lord: Learn not the way of the heathen…For the customsof the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the workof the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and withgold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not” (Jeremiah10:2-6).

Yet this is what the materialistic, Nimrodian Western world does every yearat Christmastime, “decking” the tree with decorations, lights, presents, and flags. They fix their trees in pots so that they can’t “move”. Thereare many other traditions associated with Christmas, such as the Yule log,the exchanging of presents and Christmas cards, Santa Claus (Nimrod himself)and so on, all of which have the same pagan origin. The exchanging of presentsin particular is part of the intoxicating commerical season when peopleseasonally bankrupt themselves and governments, in some countries (such asNorway) have lower taxes in December to encourage people to spend. The Christmasseason does not honour Christ — it honours Nimrod, and therefore Satan. No Christian presented with the facts of its origin has any excuse to celebrateit any longer. He should be morally outraged and revolted and boycot thewhole season. Celebration of this devilish system is for New Covenant Christians, who know the facts, a compromise with the world, a denial of the true Messiah,Jesus Christ, who was born on 6 April and not 25 December.

Brethren and sisters, if you are true to the times and seasons of the Lord, and break the bonds of Christmas celebration, He will surely bless you, andHe will turn vanity into spiritual prosperity. I counsel you to gather togetherwith the saints over the Christmas season and make it a special time offellowship and worship apart from the world and the false religious systemsthat are so much in league with the Nimrodian economic and political system– a system that will soon play a major rôle in the return of a farworse Nimrod than he who established Babylon, even the Antichrist. Insteadgo and tell your friends about Jesus who came to free people from all sin, including pagan traditions, and invite them to receive Him as their Saviour. So shall we say: “We wish you a Merry Christmas” this Christmas? God forbid! And let us stop calling it “Christmas” for such defiles the name of Christ.Let us call it what it really is, The Festival of Nimrod or Brumalia (theRoman name). Would you wish anyone a “Happy Nimrod” or a “Happy Brumalia”?So what should be do when people wish you a “Happy Christmas?” Remember, that much good is done during this season and this should be encouraged.Whatever is good is of God. Sometimes you will have time to explain whatyour position is regarding this festival but often you won’t. If someonewishes you a “Merry Christmas” in passing, why not reply by saying: “MayGod bless you”, as Jesus would have done? Who knows. Maybe their curiositywill get the better of them and you will be given the opportunity to witnessof Christ. Then the season really will become holy to you, and not becauseof any pagan festival, but because you stood up for the truth and broughtsalvation into the world through your witness. Thus every day will becomea Holy Day — a true “holiday”.

Herodotus: From The History of the Persian Wars, c. 430 BCE

I.184: Many sovereigns have ruled over this city of Babylon, and lent theiraid to the building of its walls and the adornment of its temples, of whomI shall make mention in my Assyrian history. Among them two were women. Ofthese, the earlier, called Semiramis, held the throne five generations beforethe later princess. She raised certain embankments well worthy of inspection,in the plain near Babylon, to control the river, which, till then, used tooverflow, and flood the whole country round about.

“In the Bible, sun worship is called Baalim, and to the Israelites the sungod was simply called Baal. 1 Kings 16:31. The term Baal is the highest namethe pagan gave his god. It meant Lord or Master. . . . In most cases thesun was the main deity of the Old and New World. [It is not a coincidencethat a number of New Age books are dedicated to “the Master”, Satan in athin disguise. The New Age is simply occultism and spiritualism clothed ina new deceptive garb.]

“As Baal or Belus was the name of the great male divinity of Babylon; sothe female divinity was called Beltis or Baalath. In Joshua 19:8 she is called’BAALATHBEER.’ Baalath’s son was ‘Baalberith,’ which means ‘LORD OF THECOVENANT,’ and the Israelites worshipped him in their apostasy. Judges 8:33.Baalzebub or Beelzebub, means: ‘Lord of the Fly.’ This is the chief Orientalname for Satan. It also means: ‘The Restless One.’ Just as a fly is neverstable and has no resting place and travels to and fro in the earth, so isSatan.” The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answeredthe LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”Job 1:7. William J. Sutton and Roy A. Anderson, The Antichrist 666, pp. 24,25.

“This son [Tammuz], thus worshiped in his mother’s arms, was looked uponas invested with all the attributes, and called by almost all the names ofthe promised Messiah. As Christ, in the Old Testament was Adonai, the Lord,so Tammuz was called Adon or Adonis. Under the name of Mirthras, he wasworshipped as the Mediator. As Mediator and head of the covenant of grace,he was styled Baal-Berith, THE LORD OF THE COVENANT.” Alexander Hislop, TheTwo Babylons, pp. 69, 70.
